The newly-installed Schools Division Superintendent in Iligan City Division, Domingo V. Samson, CESO V, expressed confidence that DepEd Iligan has the financial resources and support of LGU and big companies to resurrect itself from the bottom rank in regional evaluation.
“It is a mater of how we can effectively use thee resources and support for sustained academic competence among our children. We have creative school heads and teachers, We should go beyond structural beautification and focus more on what’s happening inside the classroom. With strong interpersonal relations among teachers and administrators we cannot fail” Samson said.
Samson was installed as Schools Division Superintendent by DepEd Regional Director, Dir. Estrella Abid Babano, last July 23, 2007. Dr. Lourdes G. Told, the out-going SDS has been reassigned to Cagayan de Oro City Division.
Samson had served the island province of Camiguin for more than two years as SDS before coming over to Iligan City. He rose from the ranks from a classroom teacher to principal II in his hometown in Gingoog City. Then he was appointed as ASDS in Oroquieta City in 1986 and in Malaybalay City from 1996 to 2001. Hew went back to Gingoog City and was promoted the following year as Schools Division Superintendent in Oroquieta City. On August 30, 2005, he led Camiguin Division as one of the top performing divisions in the region.
“We will do or best despite the fragmented views. We will work hard and move forward as one community. It’s the only way Iligan City Division can rise to the top again,” he concluded.
